What age groups do you cater for at Little Moppets?

At Little Moppets, we welcome children from as young as six weeks up to five years of age. Our rooms are divided into three age groups: Babies (0-24 months), Toddlers/Pre-kindy (24 months - 3 years), and Kindy (3-5 years).

What are your operating hours?

We're open Monday to Friday from 7:00am to 6:00pm to accommodate the varied schedules of our families. Please note, we're closed on public holidays.

What minimum Qualifications do the staff hold?

Every Educator in our service requires a minimum Certificate III in Children’s Services. Given the layout of our rooms, each room will have a Lead Educator who holds a Diploma in Children’s Services and or higher.

What is the staff to child ratio at Little Moppets?

We adhere strictly to the National Quality Standards for staff to child ratios. These vary depending on the age group, but rest assured, your child will receive the attentive care they need.

What learning program do you follow?

At Little Moppets, we follow an emergent curriculum based on the Early Years Learning Framework. This approach allows us to create a flexible, child-centred program that nurtures each child's interests, strengths, and needs.

What meals do you provide?

We serve breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, and a late snack, all freshly prepared on-site by our wonderful cook. We cater to dietary requirements and preferences as well.

Can I visit the centre before enrolling my child?

Absolutely! We encourage families to visit our centre to meet our educators and see our facilities. Please contact us to schedule a tour.

How do you communicate with parents?

We value open and consistent communication with our families. We use a Parent Communication App to share updates, photos, and important information. You're also always welcome to chat with our educators at drop-off and pick-up times.

What should my child bring each day?

Your child should bring a change of clothes, a hat for outdoor play, any comfort items they may need, and a water bottle. If your child is in nappies, please provide these as well.

Do you provide a school readiness program?

Yes, our Kindy room includes a school readiness program that focuses on developing skills such as socialisation, independence, literacy, numeracy, and more. We aim to ensure a smooth transition to 'big school' for every child.

What is the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) and will I be entitled to it?

The Child Care Subsidy (CCS) is a Government Rebate that helps families cover the cost of childcare. The CCS is available for most families per your eligibility and the subsidy is only applied to your fees on enrolment with the service and confirmation via your booking schedule through your MyGov account.
